Mrs. Chiniqua Varner-Busby

Enthused and excited, Chiniqua Varner-Busby is proud to serve the Central Elementary Network as principal of William Brown Miller Elementary School for the 2022-2023 school year. After serving as an assistant principal in the Northwest Network, Mrs. Busby is eager to transition into the role, carry the torch and continue the journey of academic excellence and strong school culture at William Brown Miller, where our motto is “Preparing Students For Success In A Changing World”.

A proud product of Dallas Independent School District, Mrs. Busby graduated from David W. Carter High School. She continued to Mountain View College and the University of North Texas, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations. Later, Chiniqua furthered her studies with a Master of Education in Reading at Texas A&M-Commerce. She has experience at multiple levels of the continuum, serving as an elementary teacher at Daniel Webster Elementary and Birdie Alexander, Instructional Coach at Gilbert Cuellar Elementary School, and elementary and secondary leadership roles in both Duncanville ISD and Dallas ISD. She feels that she has been fortunate to learn from some of the top leaders in education.

Chiniqua’s favorite quote by First Lady Michelle Obama is “Education is the single-most important civil rights issue that we face today.” Her passion in leading and supporting staff and students begin with ensuring every child is afforded an equitable and excellent educational opportunity that is innovative in this evolving world.

During her free time, Chiniqua enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her husband and son. She values serving others through mentoring young ladies with other like-minded women in the community. She also adores her sweet puppy Dash.
